Bee Venom Therapy (BVT) has found much recognition as a form of relief from MS symptoms among some people with Multiple Sclerosis.
Christine Norris wrote an article, with more information, in the July/August 1997 issue of the MSAA's The Motivator. They have their own website which you may check out.
The article states that 50 plus stings every other day is what some people are using with amazing results. As I have learned, this works for itermittent/relapsing forms of MS, not necessarily for those with "Progressive" MS. And, it is not a cure, however it is therapy that is helping some.
Research is continuing on this therapy, and the proper methodology to be used. There are definite immunological changes within the body after being stung. I can attest to that having worked with bees for four years, and being stung nearly everyday of that time.
As with any form of alternative therapy, caution should be taken. Do your homework. Research studies being undertaken at this time, past results with different people, costs both monetary and emotional should be weighed when checking out any method of treatment. After all, it is our body - so we should make the final decisions of what we want to experiment with.
