Typical "Hof" (farmstead) found in Krasna, Emmental, Bessarabia, Russia, Karamurat, Dobrudscha, Romania as well as other German villages in South Russia during the 19th century and early 20th century. Generally the living quarters for the residents were toward the street side and the barn/stable for the large animals was toward the rear of the building.
