How Does the LIGHT reading lamp Help you see better?
|
It Increases Illumination:
The light rays are reflected down towards the object which you want to see. In a conventional lamp design,
much of the light from the bulb is scattered and wasted. The unique reflective system and opaque shade permit
you to place the LIGHT near the area you want to see without the annoying distraction of glare light. Being able
to place the lamp closer to what you need to see, causes the object in view to receive even greater illumination.
It Diffuses The Light:
The unique reflector design spreads the illumination to avoid bright spots, a frequent problem with "high intensity
lamps" and lamps with high wattage bulbs. This feature keeps the comfort-of-use factor high and minimizes
reflective glare.
It Eliminates Glare:
The LIGHT blocks glare light from the bulb with a special opaque reflective cup and etched aluminum diffusing reflector in the shade. Glare reduces your ability to see an object separate from its background (such as print on paper). This means that when a glare light source is present, the print on the page appears to fade, and the fine lines on an object are not as clear. Eyesight becomes more and more sensitive to the presence of glare light as we age. For people over the age of 50, the presence of galre can reduce their ability to read print by over 50%. Glare can also reduce contrast perceptin for younger people who wear glasses or contact lenses, and those who read or work extensively with fine detail. Eye strain due to glare is not a problem when using the LIGHT. |

THE READERS LAMP An Illuminating View on Beauty and Comfort |
These reading lamps have been scientifically designed to aid their user in reading or any other tasks requiring
artificial lighting by delivering a glare free lighting source.
The reflector system in these lamps consists of:
1) a special light diffusing reflector
2) a cup which surrounds the bulb
3) a light baffle which shields the bulb from direct view
This reflector system causes a 100 watt incandescent light bult to yield high illumination levels in the reading area
without the reflected glare problem normally associated with high intensity lamps.
Why eliminate glare?
Because glare from a light source decreases a persons ability to perceive brightness differences causing eyes to fatique and tire. Reducing effective and enjoyable reading periods. This problem compounds dramatically in people the age of 40 and older. By the time we reach age 50, the presence of glare can reduce our ability to read print by over 50%.
