*** Fixing Wood Dents ***

Oops!!! A new Dent Mishaps with wood are inevitable, and wood furniture is no different. One of the most frustrating things that can happen is dropping a heavy object on your favorite wood furniture, leaving an unsightly dent.

After you manage to control the groans of disbelief, it is relatively easy to "touch-up" the problem. Place a few drops of clean water in the dent and allow it to soak in for about a minute. Place a clean cotton cloth over the dent and use a household iron, on a medium-high setting, to heat the dent. The steam will cause the crushed wood fibers to swell, bringing the dented area flush to the surrounding material. You may have to repeat the process two or three times for a stubborn dent. This is not a cure-all, but it will certainly aid in making the dent "disappear" to a great degree.
