Although none of us needed to be told because we've experienced the benefits of GMX ourselves and we've enjoyed the many expressions of appreciation from thousands of satisfied customers.
Still, we all know there are skeptics who refuse to believe even their own experience. They want "testing" and "scientific reports." Studies and reports are expensive, especially when they're done by world-class scientists. And since GMX is a world-class product...only the best would do.
Dr. Klaus J. Kronenberg:
The best scientist and researcher of magnetic water treatment is Dr. Klaus Kronenberg. Those of us who have been in magnetics for a few years have heard of Dr. Kronenberg, the California Polytechnic University scientist whose landmark report "Magnetic Water Treatment De-Mystified" helped popularize and legitimize our industry. Many of us have met and worked with Dr. Kronenberg and we have looked forward to the time when it would be possible to bring expertise to GMX.
Since his retirement Dr. Kronenberg has become even more active in testing of magnetic technology in the USA and Germany. Recently GMX decided the time had come to obtain scientific verification of the efficiency of the Model 800. Naturally the only scientist we wanted was Dr. Kronenberg.... Happily he agreed.
Investigation of GMX 800:
Beginning in November 1995, Dr. Kronenberg tested several Model 800s in a variety of configurations at three rates of water flow, gathering both statistical data and photographic evidence. His conclusion: "The efficiencies of the units are within...the best magnetic clamp-on units I have ever tested*...not much difference was found compared with the effects of the in-line units usually used at my residence." This is an amazing endorsement from the "father" of American magnetic scientific research. Especially when one realizes that Dr. Kronenberg has traditionally held that "in-line" units are more effective than most "clamp-ons"!
Increase Flow Equals Maximum Results:
Dr. Kronenberg discovered that two units with a 4 gallon per minute flow had an efficiency of 60%, as opposed to 55% at 2 gallons per minute. What this means is that the greater flow per minute increases the effectiveness of the GMX system,* which is exactly what we have always maintained.
The significance of this evidence is explained by Dr. Kronenberg is an article entitled "Magnetic Water Treatment De-Mystified" for the magazine, Magnets:
"The formation of hard lime scale...is a consequence of the scarcity of nucleation centers in ordinary water. When the concentration of CaCO3 exceeds the solubility, the solidification can begin only at appropriate starting points, most of the time at foreign matter. If no foreign matter is present in the form of particles in the liquid, solidification can start only at the walls of the container."
In untreated water, calcium forms a lime scale deposit that causes unattractive calcium stains and destructive lime scale build-up. However, when water is magnetically treated by GMX, the microscopic evidence is that water molecules are disabled from "agglomerating" around calcium particles, and the calcium forms "seeded crystals." In other words the calcium particles, and the calcium molecules adhere to one another--not to the pipe or other surfaces. Thus the calcium is suspended in the water, passing through the pipes without causing build-up. The water performs better, and it is more nutritious than chemically treated water. Further, GMX is environmentally non-polluting,* unlike chemical treatment units which have the undesired effect of dumping chemicals into the environment for the sake of cosmetic benefits which have no effect on lime scale buildup at all!
What is most dramatic about this study? It gives scientific, photographic support from the leading researcher in the field that GMX not only works, it is among the best he has ever tested.
